Initial Design Developments

With my inspiration in mind, I began searching Manhattan’s Garment District for organic-shaped, vine, and floral laces; net fabrics; and fabric that changes color when light hits it.

Revising Sketches

I narrowed my choices of sketches and fabrics, purchasing the minimum yardage plus new fabric options that exuded my theme.

When I found this additional fabric, it checked every box I was looking for in fabric. It combined the geometric lines of the EDM lights with the organic circles, the repeat in pattern like the repetition of sounds in an EDM song, and the iridescent sequins that change color depending on the light.

Sketches with Fabric Iterations

With refined sketches, I began draping. Noting how the new fabrics behaved, I revised each sketch to achieve variety in the collection between the fabric, usage, silhouettes, and design elements. Yet, I balanced them to maintain enough commonality for all eight bridal looks to be cohesive.
